Among biotech ingredients, recombinant collagen has become a major anti-aging component due to its high compatibility, with Guangzhou Jiyuan Biotechnology registering 293 related products throughout the year; Thiamidol 630, a whitening ingredient screened by AI, is far more effective than traditional ingredients and has become a core choice for high-end whitening products. Among natural plant extracts, bakuchiol, known as “plant retinol”, balances anti-aging effects and gentleness, suitable for sensitive skin; sea buckthorn leaf extract has become a representative of sustainable skincare due to its “recyclable” raw material attribute. November 12, 2025 – According to industry media, at the 8th China International Import Expo, the full-scenario application of AI technology in the beauty industry became a highlight. Brands such as L’Oréal, Proya, and AmorePacific showcased innovative achievements, marking the official entry of the beauty industry into the intelligent era. On the R&D side, Proya used an AI-driven platform to simulate plant molecular structures, identify potential molecules for scalp oil control, and significantly shorten the ingredient testing cycle; L’Oréal’s L’Oréal Cell BioPrint device can detect skin aging biomarkers in 5 minutes, providing precise directions for formula development. On the consumer side, the smart beauty mirror co-developed by Samsung and AmorePacific can complete 8 skin feature tests in 30 seconds with an accuracy rate exceeding 85%, and pre-order volume exceeded 200,000 units. On the marketing side, Mao Geping launched a beauty digital human live broadcast room capable of real-time Q&A and personalized shopping guidance, while Proya compressed the e-commerce poster production cycle to seconds using AI painting tools.

January 21, 2026 – As reported by 36Kr, the supervisory department under Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) has unconditionally approved L’Oréal Group’s acquisition of Kering Group’s beauty business. Announced on October 20, 2025, the transaction has a total value of €4 billion and is expected to be completed in cash in the first half of 2026. Under the agreement, the transaction includes the full sale of the Creed brand, beauty and fragrance licensing rights for Kering’s iconic fashion houses, and an exclusive joint venture project in the health and longevity field. Industry analysts believe that this acquisition will strengthen L’Oréal’s layout in the luxury beauty segment, and the addition of Creed will fill its niche gap in the high-end fragrance market, further consolidating its leading position in the global beauty market. Currently, the transaction is still awaiting final approval from regulatory authorities in other countries and regions.

January 19, 2026 – According to Ringier Industrial Resources Network, L’Oréal Group announced the first 13 selected enterprises for its flagship sustainable innovation project 「L’AcceleratOR」 on January 14. With a total investment of €100 million (approximately RMB 810 million) over five years, the project is jointly operated by L’Oréal and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), focusing on innovative solutions to address climate, nature, and circular economy challenges. It is reported that since its launch in April 2025, the project has received nearly 1,000 applications from 101 countries. The final selected enterprises cover four major areas: next-generation packaging and materials, naturally derived ingredients, circular solutions, and data intelligence. Among them, 6 enterprises are in the packaging field, including Kelpi (UK)’s seaweed-based biodegradable packaging and Blue Ocean Closures (Sweden)’s fiber-based bottle caps, which can achieve significant benefits such as an 80% reduction in carbon emissions and a 90% reduction in energy consumption. Selected enterprises will receive global resource support from L’Oréal to carry out 6-9 month pilot projects, and those with outstanding performance are expected to promote their technologies to L’Oréal’s global business.
