January 19, 2026 – According to Ringier Industrial Resources Network, L’Oréal Group announced the first 13 selected enterprises for its flagship sustainable innovation project 「L’AcceleratOR」 on January 14. With a total investment of €100 million (approximately RMB 810 million) over five years, the project is jointly operated by L’Oréal and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), focusing on innovative solutions to address climate, nature, and circular economy challenges.
It is reported that since its launch in April 2025, the project has received nearly 1,000 applications from 101 countries. The final selected enterprises cover four major areas: next-generation packaging and materials, naturally derived ingredients, circular solutions, and data intelligence. Among them, 6 enterprises are in the packaging field, including Kelpi (UK)’s seaweed-based biodegradable packaging and Blue Ocean Closures (Sweden)’s fiber-based bottle caps, which can achieve significant benefits such as an 80% reduction in carbon emissions and a 90% reduction in energy consumption. Selected enterprises will receive global resource support from L’Oréal to carry out 6-9 month pilot projects, and those with outstanding performance are expected to promote their technologies to L’Oréal’s global business.
